Why are Christians afraid to meditate on God — and how do I actually feel His love?
The Bible already tells us to meditate on God’s word. That is not emptying your mind. It is sitting with who God is until the heart catches up. Thoughts fade. Felt love stays.
We read that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness — and we nod. Then we rush on. Head knowledge that never sinks in leaves daily life unchanged.
Meditation was not invented by other religions. They used a capacity God built in. Scripture says meditate on His word and works. The Christian practice is not emptying the mind. It is filling it with who God is.
When people finally sit still, the first things they meet are hurt and ugly thoughts. So they stay entertained. The practice is not analyze yourself. Look at God until His character crowds the noise out.
Read one fruit or one name of God. Sit a few minutes with no phone. Ask Him to let you feel what that is like in Him. When the mind runs, return to the word — not to self-scolding. Then treat one person from what you sat with.
