If the heart is deceitful, why would Jesus tell me to follow what God put in me?
Jeremiah 17:9 names the old heart. Jesus gives a new one and puts His Spirit in you. The old warning is not a life sentence after the new birth.
Religious caution often quotes ‘the heart is deceitful above all things’ and then tells people never to trust inner leading. That verse is about the unrenewed heart.
God promised a new heart and His Spirit within you. The old has passed away. You walk by the Spirit. You can follow the heart He placed in you — tested by love and Scripture, not by fear of your own soul.
The fruit is love, joy, peace, and kindness toward people. That is how you know the leading is His.
